Calistoga is the town at the top of the Napa Valley, and its pickleball is the size of the town. There is one public place to play, it sits on the high school's courts rather than in a city park, and the city itself runs no weekly pickleball of any kind. That is not a complaint. It is the thing worth knowing before you plan around it.
Two kinds of people read this page: residents who want a regular hour without driving down the valley for it, and visitors here for a few nights who want something to do at nine in the morning. Both work. Either way the court is arranged as part of the lesson and paddles and balls are brought along.
One seasonal note, from me rather than from a council page: the head of the valley is the warm end of it, and a July afternoon in Calistoga is not the hour to learn a new sport. Summer lessons here start early. Spring and fall are easier, and they are also when the town is pleasanter to be in.

Calistoga's public pickleball is played on school ground, which puts it under California's Civic Center Act rather than under a parks department. The Act counts tennis courts as school grounds and leaves it to the district's governing board to authorize use and set the terms, including whether to charge. In practice that means it is the district rather than City Hall that decides what happens on those courts.
Calistoga Parks and Recreation lists two adult leagues, bocce and coed softball. There is no pickleball league and no pickleball class. Unlike Windsor or Rohnert Park, there is no municipal group class to join here, so structured pickleball in Calistoga comes from outside the department.
Calistoga Parks and Recreation puts on a round-robin pickleball tournament in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce. You sign up on your own and get paired at random, and the entry includes a glass of wine from a local cellar, which is about as Calistoga as a sports fixture gets. It is occasional rather than clockwork, so check the city's registration page before planning a trip around it.
The Vine runs an on-demand shuttle inside Calistoga's city limits for the general public. You call it or use the app, there is no advance reservation, and a ride turns up in roughly fifteen to thirty minutes. If you are staying in town without a car, or you would rather not give up a parking space on a Saturday, that is the practical way to get to the courts and back.
